I added the image of the small crack midships to my original post.

I like the bow aluminum block Idea....I will likely pursue that approach as you did.

I also got contact with Bruce(ter) . He does some nice work. Did you use his Vagabond casting on your Hawk? The hole pitches are slightly smaller and he mentioned that. ..... but it looks like it would fit with 2 new threaded holes in the bow casting.

That rear splash pan area may be able to be welded. Make sure it is by someone good who know what they are doing. I dont see the mid ship one so i dont know. My bow eye was like yours. I had a block of aluminum milled out for the inside and outside and mounted a new one.

Bikecop -- here are the deck crack pictures.
The longer one with drilled ends is in the stern above the gas tank storage area. I was thinking his could be brazed welded possibly, but I understand that is not always a proper method for this type aluminum . Did you have any of these repairs on your Hawk? How'd you approach them?
The small one is on the side deck midships, where the seat back support attaches. Was thinking a plate under the crack and riveted to minimize flexing. ALso, the support needs a different angle to prevent twisting on the deck area.
The other item is that hook in the front....I need to see what is normally used there as the present arrangement has damaged the Aluminum bow-keel as you see. What do you have on yours in this location?
Also a status shot....stripped down and waiting for the love.!
( Why cant I get these oriented properly? One is upside down and one is correct, both come out upside down?? Also cant delete these...) )
Have a great day all...

The Chrysler has personality issues and presently benched. It needs a rework..maybe this winter. Have not had a chance to see how it moves the boat. Ive been looking for a replacement with something more modern and quiet...no luck yet.

We do not see many Chrysler outboards on the site, How is this one running? Does that 20hp push the boat along pretty good?
