TOPIC: 1959 Lone Star Malibu

1959 Lone Star Malibu 17 Jan 2020 03:02 #101437

well I really didn't see and manufacture of the trailer today.. this brochure states the colors for 1959 were Dover white hull, charcoal accent, Burmese Red, Alaskan Blue, Jamaican Gold, Tahitian Coral Trims.. all shown in the brochure except the Tahitian Coral which I can't find any photos of any in this color.. after looking mine over closer today it seems to have been Tahitian Coral originally .. and can be seem on the dash that most of the repaint red has flaked off as well as some on the side near the Lone Star lettering.. I'm pretty happy to see this as I can't find another this color.. even though it was freezing today I took some warm soapy water and a scrub brush and washed a spot and a lot of crud came off and some more of the flaking red repaint to see more Tahitian Coral under it.. still not a lot of it left... but I think with a power wash a lot of the red will come off.. the trailer fenders seem to be the same color under peeling blue paint..

I'm not sure just what it is.. it was dark when it was delivered and I haven't had a chance to look it over yet.. I'll be able to do more looking today as I need to get the wheels off and replace bad tires..

Neat! What kind of trailer is under it? It almost looks like tee nee style fenders, backwards

Love a Lone Star. Too many projects and life changes to keep her. Great boats.
