VERY nice work, John. Not that I expected anything less than perfection. ;)

Looks awesome as usual!
By the way I need some new cabinets once you’re finished with this job ;-)

Just finished making new seat frames. The front seat backs were missing. Thank goodness someone had posted detailed drawings of the original seat backs. Everything else had good originals for patterns. Top paint coming soon I hope.

Yeah, the original top line is just like the red one. You did such a nice job prepping that panel, it made me wonder. I'll be watching the Zolatone application closely.

Hey Marc.
It will be a base coat/ clear metallic PPG paint . I used their Shopline Primer. Somewhat high build.

Primer Surfacer

JP202 2K Primer Surfacer
Primary use: fill and sandability.

JP202 is a two-component, catalyzed urethane primer surfacer designed to deliver high film build, fast dry and easy sanding with good holdout and durability.

Hi John,
Looking good, can't wait to see some bright colors! Are you going to use a base coat clear coat?
Do you like to use a high build primer with sanding?

Rick, I'll do it like the red one. I believe that's how they were done originally. I'm afraid the the inner panels would get scratched pretty bad if I painted further down.

That's looking great!. Are you taking the top color down to the bottom of the inner panels, and the Zolatone just on the bottom, or keeping the like up near the top like on your red one?

Finally back on the Jetstreak. Etch primer and sanding primer applied. After blocking (wet sanding) I'll get it to my buddy's body shop after Christmas for the top color. That paint is too expensive for me to screw it it up in my dirty shop. Then I'll finish the interior paint. Interior will be Zolatone speckle paint as original but I'll use a gray instead of the original black. Zolatone has to be applied with a pressure pot gun system. This is the fun part!!!
