AOMCI Meet 09 May 2018 02:29 #84832

Just yell and we'll meet you at Stone Mountain. 10hp motor max and for the Summer no private power boats on the weekends after 11 AM (I think), until October. During the week days, run what ya brung but the 10hp motor size limit is always in effect.

Have run the KG-7's there on a regular basis but we behave and try not to draw too much attention. 350 acres of fun, and normally a mill pond.

Often times after 4:00 we see (and avoid) a lot of paddlers in various plastic boats so we try not to ruffle their feathers. Nice ramp and parking area (with a porta-potty).

Lake rules are posted on the Stone Mountain website.

Hey John, ya look great in that AC. Wish I still had the one I had as a kid.

Cheers,

Merky

The only reason I brought that AlumaCraft to the meet was because my Vagabond is currently upside down having the bottom cleaned. I plan on finishing the bottom tomorrow.

We regularly sneak off to Stone Mountain Lake, which is 10 minutes from our house, with a 12' Starcraft aluminum boat and various old motors.

Great for a two or three hour excursion. Just plain and simple boating pleasure.

I need to bring the car topper over for that.

I attended our chapters first wet meet of the year on Saturday. It was held at Mentor Lagoons on Lake Erie just east of Cleveland. It was windy and rough out on the lake but cruising around in the lagoons was fine. One of the guys took three pictures of me in my AlumaCraft heading out the channel to Lake Erie. Just thought I would share.
