Day 1 1947 Vagabond 08 Jun 2015 15:30 #47690

The trailer is looking great. Man, what a piece of work, what are all of the structural fixtures there in the middle?

Looks like it's a 2 x 6 with 3/4" all thread.

The composite would be lifetime, but carpet them.

I had plastic on my bunks and the boat left Aluminum on them.
Too much vibration while trailering.
I removed them and covered the wood with carpet.

What about composite deck boards for the Bunks. It's soft,,won't rot. I don't think you would even have to carpet it.

The SkiBo trailer has the same concept only they are individual braces with 2 x 4 covered with shag carpet. They are supported with 5/8" all thread for adjustment.

Bonz,,that place is the cats meow. I don't want anything touching the keel. So no rollers on the keel. What do you think of this for up at the bow to support the boat where the patches are ? www.etrailer.com/Boat-Trailer-Parts/CE-Smith/CE26244G.html
