Day 1 1947 Vagabond 05 May 2015 21:29 #46002

I wanted to add some scuff plates to the transom boards. Well after It was complete, the motor bracket is not wide enough to allow the motor to seat. It's only 1.8 " . Normal is more like 2.25 " After beating my head on the vise,,solution. Notch the transom board,,idiot. The holes drilled in the back are for the penetrator pins on the bracket. After four times lifting the motor on and off of there,,,I discovered the bracket comes off with two bolts and two screws.

Yep, took 6 pulleys 25' of cable and two weeks work to get the 3 1/2 feet from the steering wheel to the motor :hand:

Ray,,we must have the same type of ADS....We have a hard time wrapping our heads around something as simple as rigging a small boat,,,but yet could sit there and build a full blown 800 horse V8 while eating a ham sandwich and watching reruns of Combat... :P

That's what I thought to begin with but I couldn't seem to figure out a way other than crossing over in the rear, once I figured out that I was going to have to use two pulleys on each side in the back to get out from under the tumblehome it was just a matter of relocating where the pulleys mounted.

Mark,
I have a couple of the Stainless cable eyes left over, I can send them and you won't have to go looking. I don't have split rings though. My big surprise in the middle of my rigging was that the cables had to come off the bottom of the steering pulley or I had to cross over at the back. So I ended up crossing the cables at the back.
Let me know if I can send you the cable eyes.
