Part number shows just a plate, parts catalog shows two tubes attached to plate.. if you look at plate on marine engine. Com you can see casting has marks where tubes should go.. mystery

Is that just an Aluminum plate?

Dan all makes sense to what I’m seeing, I was considering 30:1 but not there yet. I think it’s best to keep 24:1 until I’ve got all the bugs worked out. The waste I’m getting is just as much gas put through engine as oil I feel.. it comes out looking merky but if it settles it looks as new as what’s originally mixed( that’s 2$ of recycled gas in 1hour ha)I personally don’t see much smoke out of engine even at idle which was a huge surprise to me.. obviously a little is present but seems to be running that good for now haha.

I never tracked total fuel used Vs. recovered but several times I had my one gallon recovery tank overflow. Winter seemed to collect more but once I started feeding it back to the main 15 gallon fuel tank I lost all feel for what was recovered. As the recovered is likely oil rich in the winter, and it sure looked like it, I would mix 32/1 in the fuel tank Vs my normal 24/1 ratio. I could see a steady drip in the fuel/air separator I was using when idling. I wouldn't be surprised on a cold winter day at idle if 50% of the fuel used gets dumped overboard. No thermostat in my 1957 35 hp vintage motor, as you know. .

Ray atm I can’t answer this.. once I’ve burned up fuel tank I plan on calculating this.. I’m not 100% on size of tank as of yet. The shape isn’t square but rather matches hull of boat.. I know it’s close to 55 - 60 litres.. today I burnt 15% of my tank gathering close too 2 litres of waste at idle.
Once I’ve got exact or alot closer numbers for accuracy I’ll post it. Dealing with other concerns with motor, I feel it’s running rich but motor runs well and can’t adjust high speed jet 1/8 of a turn either direction without causing it to run horrible. So I’ve left it where it runs happy, WOT is around 4300rpm/20 knots. Prior to changing my exhaust baffle gaskets 1st time engine ran great I noticed oil/gas leaking under lower motor cover running down outside exhaust tube and leg.. I couldn’t pin point where small leak was coming from.. thought exhaust baffle gaskets area as they were swollen and old. And bottom of lower motor cover was quite greasy from years gone by. I’ve been watching closely under powerhead but have zero leaks and still very clean.. but still have what I would call blow by or tiny leak on under side of lower motor cover.. it’s like it’s leaking down one of the powerhead bolts on port side. Very strange and not large enough to pin point and spreads like oil/gas does.. Anyways not sure if that is remotely common to running to rich or if I’ve got a hair line crack in powerhead or something to do with previous posts I made while you gents were at AH about exhaust loading tube assembly.. Still sorting out really but also running it lots looking for changes.. been trying to enjoy it a bit without stressing about it because it’s been really running well. I’ll be pulling bottom side again Friday to see if there’s a collection of sludge like there was after first good run.. I chalked this up to possibly not running correctly for so long and/or bad driveshaft at seal still not tracked one down.. all in posts from last week. sorry Ray to go off in several directions I will follow up with better answers on waste oil/gas but just not gotten there like I’d hoped 1st trip out.. hard to give accurate numbers with other motor concerns. 1957 Ranger IV, 1956 Evinrude 30HP

It’s puzzling to me that these motors are so inefficient.
What is the ratio of burned gas/oil to un-burned in your runs with this system in place? “The days I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, I have really good days”

Yup trolling is a not so fun situation ha, I spoke with Dan and know how he’s done his unfortunately my tank is at front of boat so going to be a different situation.. haven’t gotten oil/gas in intake yet so that’s good.

Yup the trolling is the worse, maybe talk with Dan, get a clear picture of running it back to your main tank
