Try getting a Speedy Sleeve or a Quick Sleeve for the drive shaft. I use them occasionally and they work and are not too pricey. 1955 Vagabond

Another response is saying the Sportsman is from 1950 but no one has supplied a list of the Peterboro serial # ranges.

Rebuild carb in 1937, .9hp Evinrude elto.. surprisingly easy.. slapped back together and found cracked cylinder head after trying to run.. spare parts now..
began 1948 carb rebuild (complete minus gaskets) , established spark though coil de-laminating.. going to fab fuel shut off diaphragm and giver a go.. really digging these vintage motors though I’ve failed up to now. 1957 Ranger IV, 1956 Evinrude 30HP

Well I would’ve never thought salvaging 6 drive shafts for Lark that not one of them is in better shape for wear at Waterpump seal.. proof that brass seals are a horrible idea and exactly what dissimilar metals do for corrosion..
Think I’m going to wear threads out on this leg from taking apart so many times damn! so curious looking at these driveshafts there is on small difference but length etc is the same… the groove where my screwdriver is … this is gear end if I were to try one of these used ones does this groove matter? 1957 Ranger IV, 1956 Evinrude 30HP

Read this in a article tonight Mike maybe, it’s hard to say. A bit of information on them and most of it says spare parts are virtually gone. Neat little motor though.. looking more electric troller for ranger the more digging I do on these old gems.

Mike ok yes 1.5hp I worked out for sure but their saying it’s a 1948?
not sure if “page” was spelling error.. I wonder how’d they determine year? The green vs blue? 1957 Ranger IV, 1956 Evinrude 30HP
