I’m trying to run my motor here today and cannot believe the amount of waste fuel/oil I’m getting.

ran For 32mins and waste oil/gas was 4oz what the hell.

so to start obviously I’m not in tune.. started with
high speed set at 1 turn out runs best around 3/4 turn backed out.
low speed set at 1 1/2 turns out and runs best at 1 turn out.

good spark…carb rebuild…new fuel pump(going to check the pressure here shortly.

suggestions?

seems way to rich or getting way to much fuel because 4oz that’s extremely high to me for a half hour.

thx

Crank case pressure off reed valves for oil/disposal.. certainly doesn’t exceed fuel pressure I’m thinking.

Wondering if anyone knows or familiar with what the pressure coming off the crank case going to reed valves for disposal of not used oil/gas is for the 30hp Evinrude lark/Bigtwin 1956? Working on my oil recovery, trying to reinvent the wheel and possibly going to loose but would like to test the boundaries. Thank you

I guess I was thinking about the race boats, there the cables come off the bottom.
Dana calls it slippage, the story of my life, prop slip, clutch slip, tire slip, now brain slip ;-)

John ok thank you that should mean or at least eye balling from under dash will be in my favour.
I did consider this… taking steering cables to one side a while back I asked. To keep starboard side clear for kids fingers, but come to the conclusion I can’t bubble wrap her. But maybe it may work out that way by my fault

I'm sorry but I disagree with Ray. The cables on each part of the drum come off the top with the cable going to the starboard side of the boat coming off the rear portion of the spool. The cable going to the port side of the boat coming off the front part of the spool. You can also rig the steering so that both cables go to just one side of the boat.
