You can do this a bunch of different ways besides these kits, I ran just a momentary kill in a turn signal switch on a XR1000 Harley road racer I used to own, 107 HP, 9,000 RPM street bike in the 80's, gave the metric bikes hell around here ![]() Just put a little pressure on the lever and bump the kill. Thanks Ray,,,Never had any issue upshifting jap bikes over the yrs,,,Motocross you hardly ever touch the clutch,,except a feather coming off a berm shot. Downshifts are a trick.. Do the solenoids attach direct to the shift spline ?

You can pretty much power shift that trans, constant mesh, at most a 60 mil second kill will do it. You can buy off the shelf switches to hook in the linkage to give a timed kill.
No clutch needed to shift. Proud Owner of 1956 Vagabond, 1950 Flyer, 1956 Rocket, Co-owner 1952 Flash, 10-1/2 less than VinTin

That is actually the start/run switch..I think the blower switch too..I'm not sure...It's sitting in my Sons horse barn 2 hrs away.. I did not buy that motor..Heck,,I can buy a whole bike for that..... Anyhow,,I posted a rply to Ray yesterday,,but it didn't work..Ray ,the engine is around 160 lbs. , The engine compartment is long enough to allow a shallow departure angle to the driveshaft. I'm not sure what kind of bearing the final drive is...I may have to add a jackshaft to absorb the thrust from the prop,,or maybe it's already a tapered roller bearing. I'll use a heat exchanger for cooling and wrap the exhaust since it will have no water jacket. The final drive,,I will connect to a shifter. I figure it's the same as swapping props. I don't know if shifting on the fly is possible..Might drop you off plane unless you are one hell of a speed shifter..A boat with a clutch pedal...

I like it!
What does that motor weigh? I bet it’s lighter than the Crosley. How much HP? (Looked it up,55HP or so). Cable controls would make that part easier. Go for it! No reverse. ![]() Proud Owner of 1956 Vagabond, 1950 Flyer, 1956 Rocket, Co-owner 1952 Flash, 10-1/2 less than VinTin
