A one inch hole is required.

I bought a smaller o-ring and I secured a hook to the end of the installation tool and applied a pulling force on that hook which kept the drain tube from retracting. I also used some 3M-5200 on all the mating surfaces.

How bid of a hole do you have to drill to install one of these?

I ordered another drain tube kit and had a successful installation yesterday. I'm not sure why I got the same picture posted twice.

The sloped flange fitting is shown on an instruction sheet dated 2011. However, the 2016 instruction sheet shows two fitted flange fittings so it looks to me like they did away with the sloped flange fitting.

It is missing a 'sloped flange fixture' for flaring the end of the tube.

You could use your trailer hitch ball to flair one end.

EDIT: I see youtube videos showing installed using two fitted flange fixtures.

Thanks Mike,
That direction sheet is different than the one you sent me. Attached is the direction sheet you sent me and it is the same as the direction sheet that came with my drain tube kit. I have also attached a picture of the drain tube installation tool that shows both flange fixtures to be the same and of the fitted variety.

For Boatboy,
John,
This diagram is different from my original post. It shows the flange fixtures being different, one being fitted and the other sloped. I really don't remember if I could see the difference or if I just got lucky and got it right the first time. Look close.
