Yes solid wood. I plan on posting some pics tomorrow after work on what I am doing back there. I have to edge glue two pieces, not sure how that's going to work but I cut in biscuit joints too.

So... you going with solid wood on the transom? (...loaded question; I'm not a big fan of plywood in that spot.)

They always look lots better once you get all the rusty, rotten crap off and give it a good cleaning.

...although that 12/2 Romex might not be the best choice for wiring up the stern light. ;) :)

I am finally getting to my Hawk II restoration. This boat is in pretty good shape, so there is really no structural things to do. I am going to try to take pictures along the way and post info as I move along. I hope this thread will help someone, but remember this is a green horn resto.

this thread will probably be me just polishing, cleaning and a little woodworking. however I might not do some things correct so I am okay with someone telling me I did something wrong.

Anyway I am excited to get started..

Here is what I found not to use when doing a resteration, steel hardware and treated wood.
