I think Russ was running at least 36 with his Mark 58 on a Vagabond, hate to mention it blew up shortly thereafter

Well Dan your plan might work.... because this green horn has used up all of his tricks in one week. Still a few more months to Google something.

HawkEyes wrote: As some of you know at AH I was struggling with my Tiny Tach, looks like I solved the problem. I added more wire for more wraps. But as VinTin knows I am coming for him  just kidding Dan....
Dan, Jabe and all. I took your advice and went to a lower prop, 13 down to 11, holy cow what a difference! Thanks for the "prop 101crash course". At WOT My RPM's are at 5800 200 higher than normal operating range 5200-5600. I also raised the motor more. My cavitation plate is 3/8" higher than the bottom of the boat. I went up one more pin (3rd hole up, This is good Just for racing Dan) :goof:
with all this change I am 4-1/2 mph faster than when I left AH last week. Garim GPS today showed 34.5 MPH !
Thanks again setting me and the Merc straight!

At 34.5 mph you just might have me beat!

But I have a plan.
