Ok, I'm back!

Finally got me a map gas torch today and went to town on the '57 Evinrude. Well, towards town.

I got one of the screws out, popped another head off, and the last two are starting to... cam(?) out. What's the next step towards getting these out (without a welder)?

Thanks, but I'm going to hold off on buying more motors for a while. Need to do something with the two I have.

I have a '56 Evinrude Big Twin 30 eletric start if that would be of interest. I'm in Orange Beach, so it would be a short trip from B'Ham.

Well, I was downstairs trying to clean up and I ended up over by the boat... grabbed a sanding block and some 400 grit sand paper...

Got the remains of the sticky off and cleaned up the above the splash rail areas (on one side). May have to lift the boat up to get the lower half. It's an awkward angle.

Sloth, There is always the Underground Railroad in the spring. I am sure we can get that beautiful motor to Trey if we needed to.

The numbers gone is the step forward. The cracked crankcase is the 2 steps backwards.

I have had good luck with some heat from a propane torch and adhesive remover.
