rubbermaid is your friend.........once your good with it, you will have to loosen the over flow plug to pull the drive shaft back out at the same time........then have some thin catch the extra oil when you put the drive shaft back in............displacement, will bring a puddle to your floor.........

there is another way, ......pull out the drive shaft, leave the bottom plug in, pop out the over flow plug, fill with oil through the drive shaft seal, till your there, put your plug back in.........stand the unit up were it wont fall.........drop the drive shaft back in........it wont go all the way in........just let it drop till it rests .......with the pressure of its own weight........watch it for a couple days, if it drops all the way you have a leak, and a puddle on the floor.........:cheers

Is there a make your own solution to pressure testing a lower unit, or just buy the fitting?

Or just use the plastic one from a lower unit pump?

Some days, the jokes write themselves.

I stopped by Target to get some Vaseline. Since it was the only thing I got...

I was in and out real quick.

Should the Impeller be lubed up before assembly?

If so, with what?
