I quit putting it off and am doing some glass work. The leading edge of the jetski hull sits about 1" lower than the DR hull, so I built up the forward edge by laminating some pieces cut from the donor:

Then took the belt sander to it to taper the leading edge:

I am working out an aluminum cover for the leading edge as well. Sort of a mini bash plate.

I did a little bit of cutting on the transom today. Set it into place. Starting to come together...

I made a template and marked the cut out in the transom for the jet to stick out. They say measure twice and cut once. Good thing I did (actually about six times) because my first attempt had the exhaust port on the wrong side.
I am now girding my loins for the actual cutting event.
I will probably measure several more times though...

I expect covered = quieter, but I think I will start out open and go from there. This will continue to be a work in progress.

Looking real good, can't wait to see the transom on it. Gonna be a sweet ride.

I was gonna hide mine, under a cockpit cover. Had thought of a wood rear deck but i know im never gonna get that far. I kinda liked the sleeper/curiosity factor of "whats that guy running?"

I think open with the round tanks would look great, add some good looking plumbing to the setup and show it all off open.
