Sorry, I just now saw the picture of your tank.  So that black wire on the tank will go to your ground (negative battery terminal) and the red wire to the gauge.  And then a hot wire from your ignition and you are done

You will have a hot wire (12v positive) coming from your ignition to the terminal labeled IGN.  Another single wire will go from the other terminal on the gauge to the sender on the gas tank.  The gas tank will need to be grounded to the negative side of the battery.  There should be a second terminal close to the tank sending unit for this purpose.  You don’t need to ground the gauge…that’s only if it has a light.  So, there is no voltage going to the tank.  The gauge measures the resistance of the ground.

I have a used 12 gallon tank in the Clipper. It came with a fuel gauge that will be  wired to the sending unit on the tank. Problem is only one terminal on the gauge is labelled. I don't believe the gauge is lit. Please help me run the wires to the correct terminals. I haven't been able to find it online.
