I am always worried that the shiny floors get slippery?

I have mixed a little clean sand in the last coat of varnish and it works well.

You have to protect the floor with something. The finish being matte or gloss shouldn't  have a bearing on it. However, the placement of the slats (gaps) will prevent you from stepping on one lone piece of wood unless you have very very tiny feet.

This is what I did. I like shiny boats with shiny floors. I used mahogany.

Wow... long dead thread revival ;)   Somewhere I had a pic of original floorboards.  Can't find it at the moment but they were nothing fancy, just painted marine ply that covered the area between the outer stringers, with some supporting and leveling cross pieces under.  Harder to find or fabricate are the slick little clamps that held them down. They slid in to a slot from the sides and hooked under the outer stringer.

[Edit] Found what I was thinking of... check out this post from Boatboy.  Pics of the boards and clips.

This is going to sound crazy, but there is a Feather Craft owner who purchased teak bath mats from Amazon and put them together to form a floor. It looked so good I got one for my '12 Jet Streak.

Good afternoon......what do the original floorboards look like ? Has your carpenter given you a quote ?

Thank you, Mike

Some have no floorboards. Some have plywood as original and some have taken it to another level with teak, mahogany etc. Most of us have the skill level, but you might post some prints of what you have in case someone might be interested. Always nice to have resources. Thanks for the offer.
