Scoot, The specification page I posted was from my second edition Evinrude service manual but I also have a forth edition Evinrude service manual like yours and it has the same specification page in it as in my second edition manual. I don't know why yours is different.

This chart is from my Evinrude service manual and the spark plug information is different than yours.

Thanks Syd. That is very helpful. I think I will just install a new pair of Champion J6C plugs.

My old cross reference champion book says M45 is a J-8-J.

So it did Mike. I guess I am having another senior moment. It looks like the M45 plug I have is not correct for the 1951 Fleetwin. I think I will test it with the M45 and see how it works. I can always go with a Champion J6C. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Thanks Mike. I assume the 44-M is the same as the M44. That answers my question as to if the AC M44 is the correct plug for my motor.

John your original post showed  M45
