Joe got me a lot of my 56 Johnson motor parts and control cables too. Hes good guy and actually lives close by in the same town. My next door neighbor bought parts from his family in the 80's.

Joe Poole has helped me too.
I have four Johnson '57 35 hp motors in various conditions I am now specifying my own parts and searching the internet with the part #s. Ebay has many new old stock parts listed and many used parts too. I also have a local dealer that gives up to 25% off for OMC and BRP parts. I would stick with original parts, no aftermarket.

I have used both Joe and Dan with great results, we are lucky to have two great sources for parts and support for these old motors!

If I can be forgiven for promoting my family's business, besides being a Mercury dealership for 50+ years, we traded, repaired, and resold many Evinrude and Johnson trade-in outboards. As a result, we do have quite a library of parts manuals, and we do stock parts, and additionally have several sources. We have been fortunate to sell a few people on this site both Mercury and Evinrude or Johnson items (Thank You). We would welcome a try at helping with Evinrude or Johnson parts, just as we do with Mercury parts.

I think the Lark is a nice looking outboard. My motor is just a little rough. I think it will look ok when I get finished But, I don’t think it will have the polished look that many have. If I can find a few miscellaneous parts, maybe I will be surprised.

I agree also. I do all my business with Dan Gano. I have two 1957 Evinrude Larks and I think they are the prettiest motors Evinrude ever made.

I like Dan Gano.
www.ganotech.com/ Get together what you need and drop him an email. He likes email best. Your 35 hp Evinrude is a very good looking and popular choice for your Feather Craft. .

I have a 57 Evinrude Lark 35hp. It has good compression and is complete. It is not the prettiest motor around but has potential and matches my boat. Question is, is there a “best” place to buy parts? I plan to replace all ignition parts, build the carb, and convert to single line fuel pump. Not sure about lower unit yet since I have not pressure or water tested. I have located what I need but from different sources. If that’s what I have to do then I will go that route. Just checking to see what recommendations are out there. Thanks for the help. Added a photo of boat just for fun.
