find of the day 22 Aug 2019 20:22 #98486

I found a pair ofvintage Wilcox Crittenden bow chocks, super nice looking.

But I have a question.... Where is the best place to install them? My thoughts are 3/4" of the way up the deck towards the bow? Not sure. I thought I saw Bikecop have a set on his Hawk?

Yeah, those are nice. I think there are more parts though. 2 or maybe 3 'pads' that compensate for the angle of the hull...

I need to turn some of them for mine. I have one without the 'pocket'. Not sure what that's for. Maybe a place to stash a pack of butts?

I found this on a table at the Clayton Boat Show Flee Market. Never seen one before. Made by Quincy. This is a mounting bracket to mount most all early Mercury throttles to your boat. Has a coupe different b bolt patterns. May even work on early Johnson / Evinrude Simplex or Shipmaster Controls.

i figured ice fishing.....seen the multi use...tackle seat combo.....even aluminum is warmer than sitting on the ice................... Reynolds is a huge aluminum source up here.........i wonder with the leather pattern, if they bin a big supplier for Fleet Industries for the deck sheeting.........back in the day........long before ice fishing was invented.........:hand:

Mike it would be interesting if you could caliper the thickness of the skin........the deck of my Fleet Ranger was .070".........and your box looks period correct fot the mid 50's........

Here you go. Combination tackle box / seat. More than likely for ice fishing. Only marked "pat pend" on seat and a sticker in the inside corner for "Reynold's do it yourself aluminum leather grained sheet"
