It’s been sometime but got a Javelin update.
I’ve been busy this weekend. Painted the pull starter
assembly and finished putting all the air silencer together. Greased all shift points etc. I need to install starter and make a wiring harness so I can start it soon. I switched to 12volt. 12v choke solenoid and 12v starter solenoid. From what I read the original 6v starter will work. Any other advice would be welcome.

Sorry, cant help out about the rechroming out where you are........as far as straightening......mine were a bit out of shape as well, .......i used a 1" dowel of wood 6" long with the corner edge slightly sanded........laying the piece on top of a piece of hard rubber mat......tapping the dowel and slowly massaging them back into shape, adjusting the folded edge as well..... then it is best too keep refitting till your happy with shape and fit before you paint final coat.......they will scratch as you fit........same goes with the front hatch, shape it too fit nice so it don't scratch later......you will have rub marks where the spring clips slide into the cowl........i taped that area off (where the clips rub)and had polished it before i painted.........hope this helps some........

I’m looking for a place to straighten and rechrome the side pieces. Any suggestions?

Most of the brackets I installed are just to see if I have all the bolts and to refresh my memory. Thanks for the tip!

i see you have the starter bracket installed with out starter.......if you wish too install the starter without removing the bracket, you have too dis-asemble the bendix.......install and re asemble....the starter wont go in as is.........just a learning curve for removing or reinstalling without removing the bracket..........
