Yep, I thought you were winding Buzzerbaits up implying the Evinrude was so reliable you didn't ever work on it and thusly didn't know how to take the cover off or even open it up. 1955 Vagabond

Thanks so much Rin Tin Tin. These guys don't ever take me seriously. I know there is a motor in there somewhere and I can't wait to wrench on it! Maybe if you can't get the cover off it might be a good idea if you don't wrench on it ![]() “If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane”.

I was just kidding. The motor is sitting on my living room floor awaiting a new engine stand to be built Arrowhead. Everything about it looks like the ten hours of use I was told it has. It has marks from being moved around over the years. I bought if from a television production company that does the TV show 'Ozark'. .

I have the same motor. The little door at the front opens up, and you'll see a latch. Open it and the latch in back and the cowling will hinge open from the top. If you want to take the whole cowling off, there are two screws on the starboard side. They're kind of a bitch to get lined up again when you want to put the cowling back on
