There's a lot to like about this boat, but I agree, wrong outboard choice.  Long shaft and he drilled a hole in the barrel back for modern steering.  I see some steel screws too.  And I think it's a 1958, not a 57 as listed.

I’ve bought a few that were in kit form ;-)

I wouldn’t recommend it!

The seller doesn't appear to be all that knowledgable about Feathercrafts. Per the seller's comment: "I believe these were sold in the form of a kit that the owner then had to assemble."
I'll never understand why BaT rejected my application to list my Vagabond.

The owner posted the boat here asking about its value. Getting a boat on that site assures the seller he will get far more than he would get anywhere else. WetWillie and I got shut out on our attempts to get listed. It's a beautiful boat but as much as I would like a modern motor, that one is simply too large. It is out of proportion to the rest of the boat. I showed a picture of it to my wife and asked her what she thought might be wrong with how it looked. She immediately said, "The motor is too big."  The color doesn't help.  Its location, Oklahoma, might make it less appealing to a lot of prospective buyers.
