I don't know what you are talking about in your post regarding a Wilcox Crittenden outboard. They never made outboards to my knowledge.

Hi Rick,
I was at the Clayton Boat Show this past weekend selling in there Market Place. I had it on my table for a lot less .A friend and avid outboard collector told me I was selling it too cheap. Put it back in my truck. At that show I found a boat I really liked and did the deal. I listed the Motor Tray at a price that if it went away I wouldn't regret selling it. If It doesn't sell the first go around, It's going on my new boat with my Merc. mark 20. At that show I also bought an early 50s Mercury Stand with the 50s Mercury Logo. I'm not much of a collector today but I just can't pas this special stuff up. Only seen one of these early stands in 50 years and it wasn't for sale. Today, I only collect the best of the best. I only sell on E-Bay to help improve my own personal collection. So that's my story. Just fishing so lets all see what happens. Jim

Jim, don't take our commentary the wrong way. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, and you just might get your ask from someone that's been searching for just that piece to complete a restoration. I've bought stuff from you before and I know you typically have top shelf stuff. The price was just a bit startling is all.

The design is interesting in that it looks like the idea was to drop any dripping oil overboard through the transom. My how times and attitudes have changed. :)
