Brunswickian post=111459There is a Fire Fly for sale in Appleton Wisconsin bringing sold on Facebook for $1,800 if anyone is interested. Appleton seems to have a lot of interesting old boats. That is where I bought by 12' Jetstreak. .

I saw that... a fellow posted his phone number and said he would buy it within a few minutes.

does anyone have a link?  Is it sold?

The DC seller is waiting for someone new to come around that wants a turn key boat.

The reason we say "He'll never get that" is that we know that the market will under value it even if we don't. Too often, I see boats that look like screaming bargains stay on the market for quite a long time. That becomes a problem for me because they tempt me to do something that will make my domestic life less than blissful.

What surprises me about that $10.5k DC is that the seller hasn't lowered his asked after having it on the market for a long time. I would think by now he would have gotten the message.

It’s funny but while we all think these boats are undervalued, when one comes on the market priced at what we all think the boats should bring we say “Oh he’ll never get that”. ;-)

I have two '58's that are in pristine condition, a Jetstreak and a Starcraft Jet Star  I walked away from a pristine Hawk that I could have had for 6k. The seller showed me an invoice for the 3k he just spent on a motor rebuild. All three boats are far better and $4,500 less than the asked on that Deluxe Clipper. That is why I wrote that the seller has over valued the work he did on his boat. You can do a lot better than the $10.500 he is asking.

I can understand why the seller believes he has a 10k boat. What he has yet to learn is that these boats are ridiculously undervalued in the market place. He is unlikely to get close to what he is asking. I said that on a Facebook post when he had it for sale last year.  I don't know why that is or if that is ever going to change. I find it surprising because they are so beautiful. I'm surprised more people don't collect them.
