In the background is a barrel back so I called to check it out, hoping for something special.
He said it was a Vag, so I went and looked at it.
Turned out to be a 55 Vag, V 10-18-55
It's been painted blue below the splash rail, white above and on the inside a long time ago.
Looks like someone roughed up the hull with 80 grit to get the paint to adhere.
Stringers intact, no corrosion. Maybe signs of a couple small hull patches (Bondo or something under the paint) on the bottom but saw nothing on the inside.
He does have the stern castings.
He's asking $800 but no title to boat or trailer.
It would probably clean up but just too much on my plate to fool with. If it was pre-52 I would have bought it.
PS... be prepared to spend a few hours with him because he's got lots of vintage stuff to ogle or buy. Lots of small antique, rare kickers, toys, robots, cars, motor scooters, cycles, trikes, yada, yada, yada. I spent about four hours with him. Great time!
Oh, 2 hydros and a finished CrisCraft with Merc 450. Nice!
See the trailer on the right, it's full of upholstery material and he has two sewing machines for sale...I was tempted.
