The last I heard is that while the boat is there for sale they charge the owner for storage

Looks like a pretty nice boat, but not enough to justify the high price. For that money, it ought to be gold plated rather than gold painted.

I was curious so I contacted Antique Boats America. The 18k Vagabond is still for sale. Boats on that site are often way overpriced and remain on the market for a long time, sometimes for years. That may be the fate of that Vag. They never lower the original asking price That doesn't seem like a sensible approach to me.

Your martini must have been extra dirty tonight.

We never saw that boat actually hit the water.  It was very striking and garnished lots of attention but I was concerned that the paint surface seemed to be showing wear and tear all over.  I wonder how many times the owner has actually had it out since it was painted.  I could be wrong but the finish didnt look very durable. From a cosmetic standpoint, the paint blemishes were noticeable and concerning.

It is still listed on the Antique Boats America site. Deal could have fallen through. Maybe the guy's wife got wind of it...
