Mark Logan gave me some good advice years ago. After washing off the aluminum cleaner, spray and soak every thing down with a baking soda solution to even further break down and neutralize any of the acid that may be hiding in the seams. Let it soak for a few minutes. Then wash down again.  I use a pump sprayer to do this.

In the 1956 catalog they recommended AlumaNew and also Brillo Pads.
I don't know if this is the same AlumaNew as what they recommended 65 years ago or not.
I have not used it; I would recommend a test on some hidden surface first as it appears very strong and says do not use on polished Aluminum or Anodized Aluminum.

I get the results I prefer from Brillo Pads, but they take a lot of elbow grease.
