Welcome aboard and good luck with your search. With such a low horsepower restriction, I suggest that you look for a FC johnboat vs a Vagabond. Just my .02 worth. ;)

Greetings from Weatherby Lake, MO (just on north side of Kansas City). I am a new member, hoping to find a mid-fifties Feather Craft to restore and use on our lake. We have a 9.9 HP limit on our lake, so would prefer to find a boat, without the outboard, to start the project.

I currently own a 1957 Texas Maid and a Larson All American, both 14' size. As the Larson is fiberglass and quite heavy for the low HP limit, I will plan to replace it with a Feather Craft. Willing to drive....if you have something of interest, let me know.

Thanks to the Admin for this site; it appears to be just what I will need during the restoration process.

Hey Slopchoppy!, you will certainly enjoy the FL Chapter AOMCI meets. I'm from Milledgeville, Ga and I try to attend most of the Suwannee River meets. The Spring meet has passed but Sept will be another good one.

OK, I'll dive in too. I just posted photos of my boat, such as it is, in the New Members Intro section. Looking forward to meeting you all.

The meet is on Saturday the 15th.  It is actually an Antique Outboard Motor Club, Florida Chapter meet as opposed to a gathering of Feather Craft boats.  You would be most welcome.

You did a great job on the Gregor.  That is the first one I've ever seen.

I'll check into the lunch arrangements for the meet and let you know more information.

I had heard that the restaurant at Ingram's had been a good one.  The event host has mentioned that the lake is shallow and one should be on the lookout for stumps, particularly on the East side.  I'll probably not run our best prop.

Hope you can join us.

I might be able to make that. Are you talking this weekend or the weekend of the 15th?

i would be bringing my Gregor welded boat. Not riveted but still aluminum. I won’t get any bad looks would I?   I spent most of the winter getting it back on the water. Had it in the maiden voyage last week

Ingrams is nice. The Whip restaurant there was one of my favorites but it shut down a couple years ago. Watch out for logs/stumps on tallying.

All kidding aside, Rob, I think this is either the third for fourth time an AOMCI event has been held at Lake Talquin.   It is our first outing down there.  Should be nice.  We wanted to be there all day Friday but something came up and we can't leave Atlanta until after lunch.

We'll save some fun for ya!

Cheers,
