Ive not spent much of any time on the Grand. I know parts can be tricky. The fellas who fish it would be the ones to ask. I run on Reeds lake a fair amount but most of my boating is up north on Lake Leelanau. Ive hosted events for the ACBS at our place in the past. Theres a great navigable waterway between the North and South Lake Leelanau. sounds like fun. Its wide too for some fast running.
I sold mine to a fellow who lives in New Jersey and keeps his boats on Long Island. My boat had been around, to say the least. Every owner had taken something original off and added or done something else. The present owner also bought a restored one a friend in Chicago had done to a high standard.
When researching the Meteors, I personally interviewed Frank Kibbler. As best as I remember, there may have been 12 made. The boat I owned had sponsons at the chines, and others had fins at a 45 degree. I imagine these were to counteract the central mass when turning.
Original motors were a 45hp Gray. I have a copied FeatherCraft photo album on Disc from the early days if you would want a copy, I'll pass one along.
I can look up the fellow who has the other two if you want but it will take some time. He had been listed in the ACBS registry, but I haven't been a member in 20 years or so. I'm not sure if I kept a copy of the registry or where it may be. I'll look in the next few days.
Glad to help,
