Rivets in stock, has everything you may need as far as rivets go.
This page gives the dimensions for brazier head rivets.
Rivets online is another source.
These boats mostly used 5/32”” or 3/16” with brazier or modified brazier heads.
The 3/16 are a common size and they are the only thing I use as once the 5/32” rivets get drilled out you need to go up a size anyway. Some of the later boats used standard head rivets.
I attached a link to a rivets online page that gives the dimensions of the various types. They do not show the brazier head rivets but the truss head rivets are very close.
I'd like to fknow me an answer to this question as well. I've got a 1959 Vagabond II and need to replace some rivets. I have done a lot of online searching and I cannot find what sizes were used on the boat.
I need to get some rivets that match the 59 Islander. PO's had welded/bondoed a couple of large holes in the splash well, and we are going to make form fitting patches that cover a greater area and rivet them in an attempt to make it look like it was always that way.
As near as I can tell, the existing rivets seem to be brazier head, possibly 3/16" shaft size.
Can anyone confirm? Also, does anyone have a source for rivets and rivet tool they can recommend?
