One last question. My seats are cushioned and blue vinyl covered, was this a factory option? They look professionally done and have been on it for a long while.
Thanks again!

Very doubtful that they are original. '54 catalog states "custom cushions available on sport models"
Although your avatar picture is small, those cushions look to good to be 65 years old. I would say a previous owner had them made for comfort.

So, if my boat is a 1954 Topper rather than a 1955 as I originally thought, I wonder why I can't find it in the 1954 catalog? Maybe it is not complete? Just curious. Thanks again.

I checked my '54 catalog and it does show the Topper. It is on a page between the Chief and Skipper. Steve must have omitted it when he posted that catalog. It is on the price sheet on the site. PM me your email and I'll send a scan if you would like it.

Mike,

Can you scan the missing page and send it to me and I will get it added to the catalog.

The first couple characters may be under the motor mount board too. The board was replaced in the '54 Vag I have, I haven't taken it off to see what the others are. All I can see is xxxx 54 as well

Found it right where you said it would be. Very small. Says "284 54". Wonder if this means it is a 1954, not a 1955?

There should be more in front of the "284" Look again.

the serial number is stamped on the outside transom on the starboard side. Only 1/8 to 1/4 inch numbers and letters. Very small
