Thanks for correcting me on that Feather. My comment was based on what the DMV has posted on its website regarding the documentation required for boats and trailers.

Yes, Mark is right. There's lots of ways to make this work. I'm fortunate to live in a State where it's easy to register things, and have been able to facilitate a few deals like this for folks in States where it's harder.

As for this one in particular, someone should save it. I'd be interested in the motor if someone wants the boat.

Please don't say a boat is worthless just because it doesn't have paperwork. You never know. I am in New York as well (Rochester). My Feather Craft and trailer both didn't have paperwork and I had absolutely zero problems registering them. If you get a pencil tracing of the serial number and they confirm it isn't stolen, you can make it work. Although I will say, that some of it seems to depend on who you get at the DMV desk.

A while back I saw a posting by the seller of the Jet Street on another boat forum where he expressed his intention to install a jet pump. Efforts were made to dissuade him from doing it because there aren't a lot of these boats left. I'm glad he is selling it and hope that someone here buys it. I think his jet pump conversion was a bad idea.

Go for it, I know from experience you can make a good $0.50 to $0.75 an hour if you're willing to swallow the cost of materials

Well, you see Ray, I have a secret weapon :shhh: My plan is to run em through Ontario and let the Bearded Boat Building Banshee have at it. I figure he will crank out two a week. I am currently in negotiations with Old Milwaukee for a bulk rate that can work within my margins, but am finding it difficult with the calculated volumes needed to fuel THAT machine!

BTW....what takes you so long? Aren't you just slappin' some aluminum here and there? :silly:  ;)

I corresponded with the seller a year or two ago about this boat. His plan was to graft in a jet pump. It is a nice straight hull, but the biggest barrier to a complete restoration is that the windshield base and much of the original deck hardware and lighting is missing. Still not a bad deal. If someone's interested in this, I could be willing to splash a copy of my fiberglas windshield base. I also have reproduction tail light lenses for these, as well as some Attwood hardware.

    Steve,

Marc and I have discussed it... have come to the conclusion that it just wouldn't be profitable to sustain our lavish lifestyles so we are going to have a TV show on the Discovery Channel called "Tin Flippers" where we travel the country pulling old aluminum from barns and yards and flipping them. You can be one of the "experts" we will lean on when it comes to opinions from time to time. We will give you a little air time, but make no mistakes, Marc and I are the lead "stars" of this production. Maybe we need to fight with one another as we are driving down the road.... hmmm, look for the pilot coming soon to your TV! :cookie: :cookie:
