Marc........i laugh at worry.........:biggrin: .........puttin that stump puller of mine on there, so i made the transom out of the toughest stump i could find........all is good.......now if it were a ahem (swear, curse, spit).........a Merc.........well it would be tons of strenght......over built.........:tongue: ..

I see you trasom mount is "jacked up". Is there metal behind that, Or is it just wood. If its just wood, you are not worried that the wood will split with the force of the motor?

sorry Art Doc........no clue, i believe old stock.........i had a pair left over when i did the Ranger........and picked up some more at a local aomci meet this spring.........they were shiney.....and cheap....
i did melt in some plastic tubing to help the cable from chaffing.........

almost finished the steering today........new cable and all the pullies in place.........had a word with the great gazoo this aft.......we both agreed the motor should be mounted before final placement of the tention spring brackets.......no sence guessing at this point......sooooooooooo, with a bit of shuffeling.....the DR is now pointing in the right direction.....waiting to adopt a motor, and do a water test.........wish i had that done last fall.........

no to the extra guides, the cable looks good as is........i did go through the opening in the corners of the front dash, and did add guides up inside.........the cable use to rub pretty good up in there, i could see wear marks along the inside edge........
