Mike, I think the full color, 6 rivet type was used on the late '50s models. Your '54 should have originally had the foil stickers. Depending on when it was made, either silver feathers (earlier) or red (later '54 and into '55). The stickers were about 2" x 8". I wonder if you'll find them underneath.

OK guys your'e slipping. Virus must have you all distracted. No one has pointed out the FC emblems on the bow are not correct for 1954. I'm sure if this was a "sporty" model you would have been all over this.

What years are the emblems from? They measure approx. 9 1/8" by 2 7/8"
I really like them so they are staying on. I will replace the screws with rivet screws.

Thanks John and John.
The bunks are 2-3" short of the transom. I plan to reverse the brackets to correct that issue.
Boat has not been on that trailer very long and bottom looks great. Boat weighs 155 lbs. and at this time I don't plan to tow with a motor hanging on the transom.

I have always been under the assumption that the rear frame of the trailer should be directly under the transom of the boat for proper support. Picture number six that you posted shows the trailer well short of the transom.

I'm only guessing at what caught John's eye but I always try to make sure that with aluminum boats, the bunk rails extend beyond the transom to benefit from the maximum strength of the 12 degree or so transom itself. This set up helps prevent the weight of the boat, and motor, if carried on the boat, and everything near the stern from causing the bottom to develop a concave planing surface while bouncing down the road.

That's a nice looking Skipper but the trailer looks a little short.

Skippers were one of the more popular Feather Crafts built. I have to clean up the serial # but it is one of the higher production #s I've seen for any model. This one is in the seven hundred forty range.

Well I'm way overdue in updating this thread with seat and floor details, maybe social distancing will help.

Added a 1954 FC Skipper to the fleet. Have to decide if I need two Skippers. May decide to part with the 1950 on the Holsclaw Boat Roadster trailer (my Avatar)
Here are pictures of the new addition.

No Marc, I'm sure Boatboy was in PA.
These are some FL FC owners. John Gauci in the vag and Ted Hoepner in the rocket
