I used a set of the lakeshore castings on my boat and i really like the way they turned out. Expect to do alot of work to make them fit a hundred percent. Lots of sanding, especially if you want to polish them. As far as glass goes I used 1/4" lexan and it looks great but i will eventually upgrade to safety glass.

I think those 'daggers' are the seat back braces for the front bench

That is part of the original alcoa decking that forms the backs of the front seats. Here's an example (not my boat).
