Ok Dangerous Dan, you sure do but you conveniently "forgot to post the caption." After all, since every picture tells a story. Here is ours and we are sticking to it.......

"Hey Carol, where's Dan, I can't see Pokey-boy Nelson back there anywhere........"

Gotcha.

By the way, Great card Larry. Could that be a new young "you-know-who" manning the fore deck?

Greetings Mark!

Great videos, by the way. The J-55 service manual sez the short shaft model weighs 180 lbs. It sits fine in the water when not moving, and backs up ok without trying to submarine (as long as you don't push it). Doesn't seem much more bulky than the '59 E-35 which comes in at around 140-150 lbs, I believe. It does make the boat feel lighter and more agile when underway. Initially, performance wise, it was obviously under propped spinning the (a bit rough around the edges) 12 1/4 x 15" OEM wheel. I have a new 17" incher coming and we are looking forward to really letting it all hang out. Our first impression is that in its normal operating range for us, it seems to get about the same milage, maybe a bit better than the '59 Lark. It is pretty nice original condition and seems like a great bridge between the 50's-60's deflector twins and the super trick modern twin loopers. We give it four thumbs up.
