It’s surprising they are listed as the same weight, I would have thought the additional Aluminum in the stringers and floor would have been enough to make the Skibo heavier.

Listed as 335 lbs in the 1961 catalog.

Seventeen pounds heavier and sounds more realistic.

And 365 in the 1962 catalog but it looks to have back to back fold out to a bench seats.

From the 1959 catalog it is interesting comparing the specs of the Vagabond Vs. the Ski-Bo. The Ski-Bo is only two inches longer and both weight 318 lbs. There is quite a difference in hull and stringer design though.

Yeah, I was only half kidding. After riding in several Vags and then Marc's Clipper, I think that one of the bigger boats would better meet our needs. If I found a decent Skibo (...in spite of my thing for tail fins, I prefer the look of the Skibo) I'd get the seat boxes back in the Vagabond and sell it.

Wanna' trade for a Vagabond ...some assembly required? ;)

I see the wink!

I'm anxious to try out the SkiBo. Terry and Nat let me take out their's one time and I was impressed by how well it took to rougher water much better than a Vagabond. It must be the 'rounded V' hull design. I've noticed on Merky's Hawk, which has the same hull design, that he puts out less side splash and at high speed looks to be riding on the narrower center section of the hull with the 'steps' almost out of the water. The Hawk also rides closer to level Vs the bow up attitude of the Vagabond when on plane. I find this interesting but don't fully understand the implications.

In the 1961 catalog all three of Feather Craft's runabouts had the same hull design. Feather Craft was on the way out in 1961 I believe with both the Rocket and Vagabond no longer being offered.

Is the wood in good enough condition to use?

It looks like it is and has the original aluminum bolts.. The inside wood is missing though.

Is it a 15” or 20” transom?

20" and looks to be factory wood on the outside.
