Now I know what took out the power in my neighborhood late yesterday. It's a huge hickory (smoking wood sales) and took out a nearby small dead pine tree. I didn't go out yesterday because I know how those crews don't care for know it all standby observers. I also didn't want to get hurt.

The cable on the ground is my neighbors fiber optic cable and it is going to complicate my work cleaning up. From past experience I know that  AT&T will not come out unless there is an interruption of service. If I 'interrupt' service they will come out quickly to repair and likely catch me working. Again I know this by experience. They are very nice and polite when they come out but to think about it, I'm usually holding a running chainsaw and packing heat.

I've now got fiber optic cable on at least a 200 ft stretch in the right of way that goes through my property. The power line people don't touch cables and leave them lay. I can hardly blame them.

I picked up this Feather Craft today. It was less than 1/2 mile away. I haven't I.D'd it yet and can't find any serial numbers on the hull but it does have two Feather Craft emblems. 13ft. 9 inches.

Sold!

I believe it was a 1962 14ft. car topper. It's in the 62 catalog and may be the only year produced. We are missing a couple of catalogs in the sixties. Looks like it's going to see service on a private pond. It has spent the last 60 on a private pond. I bought it for resale because it was a great deal one mile away.

My Son, Adam is a great parent.  My grandkids play sports, fish, tend crab traps, swim, frog, camp and explore all kind of places, plus do well in school.   I agree JR.

True John but there are good young parents (my sons and others) out there doing the best they can. Limiting technology, social media etc and keeping their kids busy outdoors and trying not to be snowplow parents. It's a tough world...I feel for them. wrote:

Great pictures.  A surprising lot of Wizard (Merc) motors in those pictures.  I wonder if they were running a 17 cube class with Wizard powerheads.
