Yeah, I sort of had the same feeling, some people don't have any other way to get their kicks, must be tough living in Mom's basement

The 1954 Vagabond has a smaller cockpit than the 1956, I would suggest you use the boat some and see, Charlie is one big dude, and I know he’s not exaggerating his amount of usage either.

DON'T!!! ...for all the reasons given so far. Trade it for a Clipper or SkiBo. They're both bigger and roomier.

A giant consideration to modifying these boats is their original design incorporated the seats and center decks as structural support, I have seen the results of removing the center deck, the boat losses rigidity and becomes unsafe.

Please don’t, we see boats that have been butchered often, it rarely ends well. Other Feather Craft models have more leg room, you could probably find someone to trade with. Proud Owner of 1956 Vagabond, 1950 Flyer, 1956 Rocket, Co-owner 1952 Flash, 10-1/2 less than VinTin

Have you thought of removing the center islands to provide more room behind the wheel? I have a 1956 that I am working on and it is too cramped for a comfortable seat. Thanks, JD

I found fa 1956 Vagabond II in Ohio that I am rebuilding. What do you think of cutting out the middle islands to provide more space behind the wheel? Thanks JD
