Hang in there Rob, I'm sure you're prepared.
Haven't heard from Groucho, I'm scared shitless for him. Yesterday the Yucatan channel was nasty. Here is what's steering Irma, you can see the dry air mass pushing on her. www.goes.noaa.gov/HURRLOOPS/gulfwv.html |

I truly hoped Irma would go up the East Coast of Florida, but it is not to be. My old house, where my son lives, in Palm Harbor near Tampa is looking at a 5-8 ft surge and Cat 3 conditions.
My place here west of Tallahassee is also in line for a direct hit, but hopefully at a Cat 1 condition. I currently have my son and 2 gbabies, his girlfriend and her son and the wife of a good friend who's husband is in Houston working flood claims. Oh and 2 extra dogs. We are well prepared with water, food, propane, camping gear, beer, wine and Tito's. We also have a generator to keep the fridge going and run a small AC unit. All the boats are tight on their trailers and the trailers are tied to the barn support pilings. I have filled the little FC and the canoe with water. More to come.....

My brother bailed out of Tampa on Thursday. Headed to SC. He is not established in Tampa..Moved there 2 weeks ago. When he moved there,,within two days he had jobs.. He said there are few honorable contractors there. He builds high end houses. By himself. I think he is going to have gainful employment for quite awhile.
