There was nothing that happened at Rivetpaloosa to cause me to cancel the event. The reason we opted out is Kathy's elderly parents have moved in with us and they are not able to be without our care. They are not RP material at all and would not like the event or being around a large group of people. Whenever you have 54 people in one place there is bound to be some drama. There was a little, but it got sorted out right away. We'll do it again when the conditions are right.

Its sort of like focusing on a possible negative when there is so much positive stuff going on at these meets. Why? Tempers the enjoyment of the good, plus it can be off putting, so as to discourage being included in whatever is going on.

No idea what might have transpired 2yrs ago, frankly dont care that much, or enough to ask between who.

Lots of water over that dam, thru that lock, under that bridge.....

Enough bad stuff happens ever day and in our lives already. Meets should be about boats, motors, the website that brought this particular mix of rivetheads together and enjoyment of those friendships, boats and motors.

Else you miss a great opportunity to meet good folks w a genuine comradery that is 2nd to none. Plus LEARN ya plenty about boats and motors.

I can honestly report there is no need for a Breathalyzer for this post. I do not consider myself a "keyboard warrior". I have not and will not cast dispersions on anyone.

I have simply made a statement.

If you chose to make "good friends" with someone on this site, just check your 6 on a regular basis. You never really "know" someone or how they are until you do an extended "face to face" with them. I know exactly what happened at the last Rivitpalooza and I know exactly why Russ had to kill it. As far as I am concerned, the last "Big Texas Roundup" was an eye-opener for me.

Thank you for the props Steve, I consider you a good friend.

Such is life.

This forum is a happy place for lots of us and even though bad things have gone down and are yet to go down, we'd like for you to join us in our happiness.

Seems to me that if everyone had a Breathalyzer on their keyboard the world would be a better place.

It would make not one bit of difference in the state of our world. There are much bigger fish to fry Don! Come on. Break out your whiskey and hug some trees. :peaceful:
