I went to the Knoxville Cars and Coffee Car Show today with Charlie and Lesa.
There was over 6,000 cars at the last Cars and Coffee Car Show in Knoxville and I would bet there was more than that there today. The beautiful 1950 Chevy pickup of Charlie’s was restored by our own Nick Z nearly twenty years ago and there was not a finer example of an antique pickup there today!

My mom grew up on the French Broad, the farm is now under Douglas Lake. She said one time someone came up from the river with two catfish in the bed of their pickup. They were so big their tails hung out over the end of the bed. This had to be before 1941. A friend of mine said they used to snag big catfish below Watts Bar Dam. He said they were so greasy you couldn't eat them.

And now for something completely different but, perhaps, of interest to those who fish and/or intend to check out Cherokee Lake this year.

A vise with that type of support under the moving jaw is as rigid as you can get, that’s a vise that will take some abuse ;-)

Great vices John. I love the round knuckles on both of the main screws.

Looks like a 45hp 1958 Mercury shocks in the jaws?

I have two older vise's that I use all the time. One is a Yost and the other is an Athol.
