So I really like Ray’s windshield brakes on his Lightweight Rocket, but it seems the consensus is that the finish is not great. So I’m making my own.
First I went over to Ray’s last night to take measurements and shapes from his. My next phase is to do CAD (cardboard aided design ![]()

So I decided to do a custom attachment for my stern light as I did not want to make any holes in the sides. I made a center aligned box that attaches to the rear seat.

I agree that the skis look beautiful. Then again, I wouldn't expect anything less.
![]() If possible, I'd like to try my luck at skiing behind your boat. Keep on smiling through the rain

Took a break from waiting on materials for my upholstery job and thought I’d get my waterski stuff ready. Got my ski rope spliced and ready with dyneema and started redoing my old Sascade Catamaran skis. I replaced the metal parts and am busy refinishing the wood.

I used these closed-cell yoga mats for padding in my DR. My wife sewed zippered sleeves for them from marine vinyl.
www.amazon.com/dp/B01LP0U5X0?aaxitk=c741...0_576952506979689290 I'm always looking for 1/2" or thicker yoga mats at discount stores around town. (I have a couple in my cellar now.) I bite when they're $20 or less. They're the right size for my DR; trim to fit as needed.

when we made the seats in my sons boat, we got a 23' sear ray for free that was sitting a while and we took the cuddy cushions that were nice vinyl and cut my seats around the material we had,and it already was mounted to nice plywood too .i shaped seats around the cushions design so i didnt need to sew anything
while they are nothing fancy, my total investment was a whole Zero dollars, just a few hours of my time , i had some black carpet from a trunk mat from a van i scrapped, had 4 old beat up seats i stole the hinges from(all 4 fold flat ) ,all the stainless hardware i removed from the parts boat before i scrapped it and i had some stainless staples to staple the seats back to the wood after i cut them to shape. we used the boat a lot this summer and no complaints about comfort on the seats my wife makes pretty good no bake brownies ,i made some decent no sew seats lol check a local boat graveyard ,you may get lucky like me and get all raw materials practically free.
