Thank you for the great photos. The pictures with the reflection of the clouds on the glass smooth water and the barge with the crane were neat. I had forgotten there were several places on the way back where there is a view of the mountains. Glad you got a shot.

Nick,
I guess first and foremost I’m a landscape photographer. So when I’m taking pictures of the boats I want the landscape to be beautiful also. Lol Nathan says I need to focus more on the boats but I can’t help myself.
Thanks for your kind comments.

My Garmin when in 'off road' mode keeps track of the actual distance traveled. I imagine they all do. You can see from the map I posted earlier in this thread that the distance traveled on the road to the destination is shorter than the distance covered when following the meandering river.

Yes, it will always try to locate you accurately, but if you try to find a distance say from Chattanooga to Arrowhead by water, it will show you the distance by road.

We rode on up to where the Tennessee River starts, the convergence of the French Broad River and the Holston Rivers.

The French Broad River is thought by geological science to be one of the oldest rivers on the planet, 250-300 million years young.

Thanks for the Photos Dee Dee. That is a great cruise. I wish I could have made it. Here's a map showing the cruise but of course they were on the water.
