A race conceived on a bar napkin between to old friends, "lets not just have a party, let's have a boat race"... and what better place to have it but in Muscamoot Bay... Don Gower and Hal Gilmour came up with the idea of the boat race and while it has evolved some what, it basically still is done the same way.... (for the most part)
